Safety Tips for Seafood and Fish
Safety tips come in handy when we are experimenting with some very exotic dishes and seafood definitely is one. So it is always advisable to pay attention to some of the tips given by culinary experts in relation to preparing fish and other varieties of seafood.
Some of the basic tips for cooking seafood are:
- Do not overcook your seafood
- Grilling seafood requires minute attention because it dries up fast and becomes tasteless
- Seafood pollutants are stored in the fatty part and hence it is advisable to broil or grill it so that the pollutants drip away
- Eating seafood excessively may also cause chemical contamination due to the presence of chemicals in the water
- Before cooking seafood, wash the raw seafood with water and always cook it on high heat
- Avoid interrupted cooking
- Never leave the cooked seafood out of the refrigerator for more than 30 minutes
- It is advisable to cook seafood for people at risk because it is best to cook all protein based food
- While microwaving the seafood the circular dish should be rotated several times to ensure that the food is properly cooked
- Add oil while marinating the fish before grilling
- Break the seafood in half to know whether it is fully cooked or not
