Herbs and Spices for Seafood Seasoning
Seasoning is the process of using various spices or herbs to enhance the flavor of the dish. The enhancer is also called the seasoner. Seafood seasoning also implies the use of different types of herbs and spices to add to the flavor and fragrance of the dish. One can easily make the seafood seasoning at home or but it from the grocery store.
The main purpose of the seafood seasoning is to bring out the inherent flavor of the fish including salmon, shrimps, mackerel and trout. It can be also used for meats and poultry. There are a lot of ingredients which are used in making the seasoning. Most of the seafood includes red, black and white pepper, paprika as also onion powder. Salt is also used to some measure. Seafood seasoning also has smaller amounts of garlic powder, sweet basil, mustard powder, bay leaves and thyme which have been grounded.
The seasoning should be done in a proper manner meaning that the fish pieces should be lightly coated with it and set aside for marinating for at least 30 minutes to have an intense flavor. The seasoning also proves to be very nutritious as it contains very little calories and some amount of salt. The best means to get the maximum benefits of the seasoning is to store it in a tightly closed glass jar which would allow it to retain its original taste and flavor. |
